I had planned for our next profile to feature two closely related, but quite different perennial, ‘Spinaceous plants’, to borrow a term from Webster and Parkes (1855), namely, Sea Beet (Beta vulgaris subsp. maritima) and Caucasian Spinach (Hablitzia tamnoides).
